Take the Path to Journal Square from 6th ave and (9th st, 14th st, 23rd st, or 33rd st).

Then take the Path to Newark Penn Station.

Walk like two blocks.

or, you can take a single Path train from the World Trade Center.

What's nice is that both the Path and the L meet at 14th and 6th, so it's an easy way to get to Brooklyn.

It would depend where you are I guess. If you are near penn station just take the train to newark penn station for $5 and it's a 3 minute walk to the arena.

Instead of all the transferring that GMJ said....you should just take the NJ Transit from Penn Station to Newark Penn Station. The train station is about 2 minutes from the arena. You'll be able to see it. I don't remember how much it is, but I would think it would be around $16 round trip.

Keep in mind that you don't have to transfer with the Path if you take it from WTC.

I really dislike NJ transit because you have to wait a fairly long time for your train to show up (I don't know if multiple trains run more frequently between Penn and Newark), when the Path runs a lot more frequently.

New York Penn to Newark Penn has trains leaving like every 4 minutes. $5 each way.
