Hi, I am a net fan since Lavern Tart(!970 season). I am 54 years old and diehard net fan. My favorite playrt is Rick Barry on scoring, Wendell Ladner on defens e, Brian Taylor on a superb point guard for the ABA. In year 2000 and plus i say Jason Kidd and Kerry Kittles. Long time Net fan for many years. I was almost gone with the lockout and the state of the team because of what Billy King did. I had faith in Proky but I was wondering about him wanting to be Russian president. But he is a man of his word and he is building a champ team. NO I do not want Howard and I will post why in a thread. I didn't come here to argue with trolls and be insulted by people 1/3 my age. I came here to talk about BBall and the Nets.

Now it seems like the right time as Billy King said they are pretty much done for now. Basically to keep it short Howard cannot even play, he has a back injury. A back injury for a man close to 7 feet tall is not a good thing just ask Amare. Despite what Howard has done look at what he has not done and cannot do. He's a dominate force on the floor but that does equate to a winner, I say NO. He's not a winner, the only way he could be a winner is to play with another MORE dominate force like Kobe. In his mind he will try and make the team his, when in fact it is DWill's team. Even though they are friends that does not mean it will work on the court. On paper it looks great, in reality it looks like a bad mix of players.

I'm not exactly new here, but I decided to pay a visit back to the forum after a very long time. I know there are some familiar names here that I don't see on the SBN side, and I thought I'd check out what's been cooking here lately. Unfortunately, not much. Message boards/forums in general are dying out nowadays. Although I love SB Nation, I hope to see some life brought back here as well. This place brings back memories of my first introduction to the rest of the Nets' fanbase. I taught myself a lot about basketball and the Nets when I was about seven or eight, and it wasn't until I encountered features like this one that I realized how special this fanbase is.

I created a new account on here 1) because it appears my old one had been deactivated after inactivity and reactivating us giving me issues and 2) I thought I'd post under the same username that I use on SBN.

6. How did you become a Nets' fan? Well, I'm not a basketball player myself. But I love to watch the NBA, from '96 Bulls winning season. The reason I supported Nets was because of Jason Kidd! And when Vince Carter, until then my fav non-Nets player, joined, I was in heaven!!

I'm always proud to say I'm a Nets fan since 2002! ( and it always bring a shocked/stunned look from them!) Tried my best to watch games online. Been through the 12-70 season... So I'm truly excited for this coming NBA season! Finally we're relevant again!
