Respected? No.
Role model? No - DWI last year.
Great player? No - role player his entire career.
Defensive Specialist - No, mostly an offensive player
Intelligent - Not really.
So what does he bring to the table?

I've never heard anything good about him, he's gotten a DWI even though he's over 40, and I can't find any positive impacts he's made in Dallas. Dirk became more of an inside player, is it because of Popeye?Eduardo's Empanada wrote:Why do you say this?
Sorry, let me rephrase. There's nothing Popeye was great at, except for maybe offensive rebounding. I meant that there is no specific skill that he can pass down to our players.Your point?
How many great players become great or even good coaches and how many coaches were great players?
If we're getting a big man coach, I want him to teach toughness and defense. One, because it's by far more important for a big man to play defense, and two, because Brook is already a pretty good offensive player. And so this means he will be the defensive assistant coach? Not sure if I see where you're going here.
Mostly guesswork and assumptions, but I did see him play a lot during Michael Jordan's Washington comeback. Popeye had a lot of dumb plays. And again, the man got a freaking DWI last year. What the GO NETS!!!?!How do you know this?
