I haven't seen the rest of the league's lineup yet, but looks like the Nets-non-starters will compete for a title.
And for just a little $9M, it's a bargain.

They'd be battling with the Heat and the Nuggets, off the top of my head.
Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and Shane Battier are scary off the bench...even if they are old.

Agreed. I'm not too familiar with the Nuggets bench, but the Heat having Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis off the bench, whose only responsibilities will be to spread the floor and hit open 3's, is pretty scary considering the playmakers that team has.

I'd like their depth a lot more if Nazr Mohammed had signed with them.

No way our bench is that good.. lol. Call me Calamity Downer but we have no backup C.
Our "real" offense of the bench is expected to come from Brooks and Teletovic. I feel more confident with Mirza now vs Brooks based on intangibles. I don't like evans, I have high hopes for Toko but he will take some time, I do like Watson and hope to see Taylor get in there....
But still, bench wise, until we see it, we're not top yet.

You don't need a strong offensive bench.
All the Nets need is a strong defensive-minded bench that can score some. The offense will be provided by the starters.
I hope the Nets can develop some sort of a second unit like in hockey. Then they can make a case for being a contender.
If Avery fails on that, then he can settle for a mix-n-match of starters and reserves, which is not a bad thing either. Just makes the rotation a little bit traditional.
I hope the roster is flexible as advertised.
We'll see, can't wait for the season to start.
