That's still not enough for what he deserves.

I think with new CBA that will be more than fair. He's a revolving door on defense and not a dominant offensive player. He's basically an improved version of Troy Murphy.

Agreed to an extent.

This offer sounds about right, but he'll probably get max anyway.

His agent is gonna go to the general manager and say my client is averaging Dwight Howard/Blake Griffin numbers and deserves to be compensated as such. Whether or not it's fair isn't the issue but those are the kind of numbers he'll command unless he wants to give Minnesota a discount.

Seriously the hate in this thread for Love's game is disgusting. Reading all this crap about him not being worth it makes me want to vomit.

HE'S ABOUT TO BREAK MOSES MALONE RECORD FOR CONSECUTIVE DOUBLE DOUBLES!!

You break a record of that stature held by a legendary player like Moses Malone and you have people saying hes an improved TROY MURPHY?!! Seriously get real and watch the dude play. I doubt anyone here has actually watched Timberwolves games.

..David Lee last season: 20.2 ppg, 11.7 rpg, 545% fg, zero defense/bad team
Kevin Love this season: 20.9 ppg, 15.7 rpg, 471% fg, zero defense/bad team

Kevin Love, 2011 all-star, 50 consecutive double doubles, about to break a hall of famers record named Moses Malone.

Do NOT overlook the fact he is also shooting 42% from the 3pt stripe. Something that is completely absent from Lee's game

Also why are you comparing Love's stats to D.Lee's stats from last season?! (D.Lee averaging 16pts 9rebs this season) You cant just look at stats and say Kevin Love is D.Lee. I cant speak for his defense because I havent watched him play nearly enough but that doesnt negate the fact that hes worth the $$ being offered. Carmelo doesnt play any defense doesnt mean hes not worth the $$.

Are we really using FG% for a guy taking 3 3s a game and hitting 42% of them? Come on.

His TS% is .596. Lee's was .584.

Love and Lee is a perfect comparison b/c both put up huge stats on terrible teams. Lee went to a team w/ more options and his numbers went down. If Love played on a team w/ more options his numbers would go down just the same.

I could care less how many double-doubles he strings together. It doesnt make him a great player, it just means he watches the numbers during a game and does whatever it takes to hit that mark. What if instead of a 15/10 night sometime in February he instead got 15/9?

You cant extrapolate his true value from his numbers. All the great players raise their teams wins to some degree. Except for rookies like Blake and Wall who need some time.
