This is an interesting tweet by Brian Mahoney, who I consider a very good NBA reporter.
briancmahoney CP3 a lucky guy. All talk of his future will hide fact he looked out of shape in the summer and might not even be a top 3 PG this season.
Link.
Do you agree?

Re: Chris Paul - Top 3 PG?
In this case, the question is: who are your top 3 PGs right now?
I'd say it's Rose, Deron, and CP3... no one else pops out to me that separates themselves enough from the rest of the pack to be put in that category, although I'm probably forgetting someone because it has been a while.

You would have to make some kind of case for Russell Westbrook or Rondo to say Paul isn't a top 3 PG.

Russell Westbrook, I'll definitely include in the conversation, but Rondo, I just don't see it. He's been glorified by being surrounded by 3 all-stars. He has no jumpshot whatsoever, and he was exposed in the playoffs. You can surround plenty of mediocre point guards with guys like Garnett, Pierce, and Ray, and I'm sure they'd look pretty damn good.

Today he is. But I'll take Wall and Westbrook in a year.
Right now Nash is still better than Rondo.

Top 3 today... yes. In no order my top 3 are Rose, Williams, and Paul. In another 2 years, Westbrook maybe be in the converstaion, as well as Irving and Wall, but we'll just have to wait and see.
