Your ideal realistic draft?

Postby J-Kay » Thu Jun 10, 2010 9:35 am

Here's what I'm thinking right now

3rd - Derrick Favors, PF, GT
27th - Stanley Robinson, SF, UConn
31st - Mikhail Torrance, PG, Bama

#3- DeMarcus Cousins
#27- Eric Bledsoe
#31- Devin Ebanks/ Stanley Robinson

The Nets don't seem to like Ebanks that much tho, according to Dave D. If they aren't interested in him, I like Stanley Robinson. If Bledsoe doesn't fall to #27, then take Robinson there and grab a PG like Collins or Torrance at 31.

I'm not sure I'd risk Robinson falling to 31. If hes there at 27 I'd jump on that, I think he has Gerald Wallace like potential. While I do think Bledsoe can be a solid pro, I don't see him ever being on an all-star level, though its hard to judge what he can truly do. We never really got to see what hes capable of

3 Favors
27 Reynolds
31 Robinson

Rautins invite to Summer League.

Of course, I have no clue where the latter 3 guys are projected.

Why?

Did you mean Scottie Reynolds, pegs? He's most likely late 2nd round to undrafted.

Yep. Might as well change that to the 2nd rounder then, and throw someone like Hobson or Robinson in the 1st round.

Favors at 3, and two of Bledsoe, Crawford, Robinson, Ebanks, Warren, EWilliams, and Dom Jones at the last two spots works for me. Not really in love with any of the guys at that range.

3) Favors
27) Jordan Crawford
31) Trevor Booker

With 27 and 31 I just think it's important we getting another scoring wing followed by a role player (which can be for any position). So, getting Pondexter or Warren would also be a good fit at those last two spots. Booker has been a favorite of mine ever since Ghoti showed me the light.

3) Derrick Favors
27) Terrico White, Dominque Jones, Lance Stephenson or Willie Warren depending on how workouts go.
31) Gani Lawal

Ideally...
Turner at 3
Warren at 27 (unless Stanley Robinson is available)
Lawal at 31 (unless Warren is available)
My opinions are valid.

Ryan Thompson? I haven't even seen that name in the 2nd round of mock drafts, what can you tell me about him?

Thompson's a Jersey guy, shooting guard, senior at Rider now (he's also Jason's brother), versatile, decent shooter, had an excellent performance at Portsmouth. I don't think he's an NBA-quality player, though. Definitely not worth the 27th pick.

If no trades then:
#3 - Favors
#27 - Best available in this order: shooter, PG, center
#31 - Best available in this order (after whatever is chosen @ #27): shooter, PG, center

Reasoning:
#3: Nets #1 issue is an impact star at #3 and PF is the biggest need position and there is a guy that fills both in Favors.
#27 & #31: Nets 2nd biggest need is shooters. They also need back-ups at the PG and center positions. They could also use a starting PG, but maybe they get lucky here and the pick is better than a back-up PG.

Caveat: If a player at any other position is still on the board, and the talent gap is significant, then I choose the significantly more talented player. Nets really need help all over the court so it doesn't hurt.

A raw prospect, standing at 6'10 with 250+, He shows good motion and not afraid on contact.... could be someone with a defensive impact with offensive game in the NBA level.... could keep him over seas but he looks good. People missed out on Batum, Beaubois perhaps? y not take a look at the next French prospect?
